YOU WILL
The main responsibility of this position is to manage research and development of Extruded Materials. You manage the project portfolio on materials and lead a team of dedicated engineers in an international environment. You will have close contact with several functions within the company, especially our market segment managers, who requests and describes the needs in their segments and projects. The day-to-day maintenance of products are managed by Operations and is normally not covered by the R&D organisation. Information exchange and close cooperation is however expected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Secure that Diab has the most compatible products, today and in future.
- Coordination of projects and guidelines for team members in field of application, including time, cost and development ideas.
- When required act as project manager.
- Contribute with polymer and extrusion expert knowledge to projects.
- Interact with suppliers of raw materials and equipment to make sure Diab is in the front when it comes to new development.
- Challenge and develop processes and work methods to always be in the front line.
- Follow external development outside Diab Group and report on potential new ideas that we should consider.
- Line manager (including salary setting, development reviews, etc.) for an international team of co-workers in Italy and Sweden.
You will be part of the CTO management team and report to our CTO.
YOU ARE
To fit for the position as Group R&D Manager – Extruded Materials, we believe you have experience of extruder materials, as an expert and project leader. You have a positive and productive approach to work and demonstrates a can-do attitude. You take initiative, drive improvements and changes. You are inclusive and able to take and give feedback to improve yourself and your team. You possess planning and structure, but also have the ability to improvise and quickly find solutions when necessary. You are customer focused and reliable – you keep promises both internally and externally and show a strong work ethic.
Besides the above, we are looking for someone aligned with the following skills and experience:
- Proven leadership skills
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
- Professional experience from research institutes, plastic, or chemical industry
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
The position is placed in Laholm, Sweden. Travels will be required.
